A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO COMPETE IS PROTECTED UNDER TITLE IX

A brief history about Title IX.

On June 23, 1972, President Richard Nixon signed an education bill into law that included an amendment titled, Title IX. The amendment was short but profound and stated:

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal Financial Assistance.”

For 49 years, Title IX ensured that girls and women had equal access to opportunities through sport. including youth, high school, and collegiate athletics, as well as scholarships.

Title IX is under attack and we are drawing a line in the sand
